German Barroom songs . Divinity music . Machines . Piano Terror . Whether plucking piano strings with walnut picks, or beating a groove on the keys, saar’s unique blend of traditional classical roots and percussive subversion creates a strange rock concoction that owes as much to Kurt Weill and Maurice Ravel, as it does to trip-hop and minimalist rock. He has been playing in the Los Angeles area at such clubs as the Roxy, the Whiskey, and Vynyl, and has played a solo show the CMJ music festival at the Knitting Factory in New York. His debut album, Bleed on Your Dress, mixed by Eric Sarafin, will be released later this year.
