Well, I'm about three chapters into the third book. They're pretty good, a bit corny at times though. By the way, did the Gurlanins ever remind you of Randall from Monsters Inc.? http://www.sff.net/people/spiziks/randall.jpg

So I've finally found time for reading and have to say I really enjoyed the first two books in the series. A couple things in the second book kind of bugged me/took me off gaurd/seemed to come out of nowhere, but for the most part it was good. I'm putting off the third until I finish Allegiance. Gotta love Timothy Zann.

Yeah, I've never really been sure what to make of them. They're power metal, but then they're... different. I have yet to get a itunes store account... I might do that, though amazon usually has better prices, if it has them anyway.

By the way, when I listened to Sonata Arctica, the band they reminded me of most was Galneryus, they're Japanese, so the vocals will be a bit obnoxious at times though. Don't take my opinion too seriously because I don't know either band *that* well... It could've just been two songs that just happened to be similar.

Yeah, I've been playing a lot of non-metal songs lately. I'm a sucker for older pop and rock. Hahaha... not the newer stuff though, mostly. But it's kind of weird, I don't like the artists, but the music can be good (I guess that's because they usually don't write it). "Momma's Not Home" is actually stuck in my head. That guy is good. I'll try to suggest more metal though. ;)
