Awgirl, you playin. [http://theongoingproject.blogspot.com/2008/05/evolution-of-bullet-bra.html] That'll give you a little taste. BYtheway: you're the best for the camera links. I'll e-mail/call/something you to tell you about the practice camera I bought. [I've decided to see how I like using an SLR before I sink any serious money into it.] Lahv you!

Stressssssssed. BUT - peachy nonetheless. I just wish I had a more natural inclination toward organization and planning. [...Oh, don't tell Jude, but I totally lied about him looking good in a bullet bra. *shudder* You, however, would look smashing.] Take care, angelface.

Six years later: I've, sadly, not made the move over to Paris just yet. Hehe...... I'm seriously considering doing some European couch surfing this spring though - provided whatever job I find myself doing in a month or two is permissive enough an environment to employ a wandering drunk.

hey thanks for the add. Your man, Jude and I have bandied some comments back and forth so it's good to know his better half.

Shush, indeed. If you already knew all the music that he could expose you to, where would be the fun in that? "Muscle 'N Flow" is one of my faves by Menomena. ;)

"I was *going* to rec this song to you all, but it appears Jude may have done so long ago, B.K. (before katesnowbird--thank you Matt for your use of "A.J." and the resulting god complex over here). So instead of saying something sweet about the line, "Woke up just to have the light reflected from your eye. 'If this isn't nice, what is?' she whispered softly to me," and how that reminds me of waking up next to him. But alas, I will not. I will just give you a link to two versions since he neglected to do that for you a year ago. http://tinyurl.com/5u4lag"

"I have embarked upon a huge undertaking unprecedented in iTunes or iLike history. I have 17,353 songs in my music library. Roughly 15,000 of those came from my dear Jude, themalegoodbye. It was quite the process getting all these songs from his various storage spaces, so much so that it began in June and ended yesterday. But at last, I have it all. Muaahahahahaha. And I have elected to start at the beginning and alphabetically listen to all his songs. In the pursuit of musical enlightenment, I begin with +/-. Listed here as Plus Minus. But as Jude assured me, the correct spelling is +/-. So I follow his impeccable dewey decimal system of a music library and recommend this song to you, my fellow plebians. Stay tuned for more morsels thrown your way. And from this song I dote on the words: 'Everything She said, “Here is someday. We’ll find some way.” And pulled me in.' Yes I did, melord, and yes I am keeping you here, within. And we will find a way. No worries. | http://tinyurl.com/6x5kf8"

"Jude mocked me for not knowing these fellows, and it is thanks to The National that I just popped on their page and found a free mp3 though apparently I have their entire library. Shush, Jude."

"'Movin' right along, foot-loose and fancy free. Gettin' there is half the fun; come share it with me. Movin' right along (doog-a-doon, doog-a-doon) We'll learn to share the load. We don't need a map to keep this show on the road.' Kermit and Fozzie the Bear know best about road trips out west. Don't ignore the signs, muppet. Jim's been working overtime for us. | http://www.mediafire.com/?jdxd5lnw2zu "
"'You know that I love you every way that I know how. You're like a floodlight. Like the sun's rays. Like a moonbeam. Like ocean's waves. Like a blanket. Like an embrace. You're my safe place.' And I hope desperately to be yours. And more. | http://www.mediafire.com/?x209xwl02xn"

"Continuing on the cheesy 80s love song kick. It started with a joint playlist between Jude and I called "The Make-Out Sessions." He finished his installment in 2.9 seconds. I, however, am a bit slow on the playlist building. I choose, I delete, I check lyrics, I add, I delete. I search for songs I haven't heard in ages when I think of a particular lyric. Jude, this make-out installment is for you. 'How can I convince you what you see is real? Who am I to blame you for doubting what you feel? ... You followed me through changes and patiently you'd wait Till I came to my senses through some miracle of fate. I was living for a dream, loving for a moment, Taking on the world, that was just my style. Now I look into your eyes, I can see forever, the search is over. You were with me all the while. "

"'The mountains said I could find you here / They whispered the snow and the leaves in my ear / I traced my finger along your trails / Your body was the map, I was lost in it / Floating over your rocky spine / The glaciers made you, and now you’re mine / Floating over your rocky spine / The glaciers made you, and now you’re mine' It may not have been on either of our maps, but this is where we begin our journey. As Kermit says, 'As you start traveling down that road of life, remember this: There are never enough comfort stops. The places you're going to are never on the map. And once you get the map out, you won't be able to refold it no matter how smart you are. So forget the map, roll down the windows, and whenever you can, pull over and have a picnic with a pig.' Furthermore: 'And with your soft fingers between my claws Like purity against resolve / I could tell, then and there, that we were formed from the clay / And came from the rocks for the earth to display.' Get up here already. We have a lot of catching up to do. "
"You may not know this, but I'm a Philly girl. I was born and raised in the suburban Delaware County, and barely left that spot at all for a long time. Growing up my family spent our summer vacations with all our cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents "down the shore" in South Jersey. From Ocean City down to Cape May, I've been there. This little diddy by Philly boys overunderground captures the nostalgia of my childhood summers very sweetly. I always did wish the sun would set over the Atlantic. We would fake it by driving down to Sunset Point in Cape May, my sisters and I crouched low to the ground collecting "cape may diamonds" at dusk. Try on their other free listens... there's a bit of David Grey in this one, a little Dismemberment Plan in the others."
"http://www.mediafire.com/?du3bwtmmw9p | This is my favorite Dead Can Dance song. I vividly remember chills spreading up and down my spine the first time I heard it, which would have been in the late 90s while in college and sharing music with my ol' roomie/bestie Michele M. Michele introduced me to the world of the macabre and the funereal (you might not realize that now, browsing her playlists–which I will attribute to the twwuuuu wuuuvvv in her life). Lisa Gerard's voice in this piece is breathtaking. I don't know what the hey she sings about but I've always imagined it to be a yearning plea of the soul, longing for one's missing piece. The strings' gentle ascent and descent at the end imply hope and resolution that one will be delivered from the depths. In my case this salvation has, at last, been realized."

"For Jude. Teehee. Heheheeeeeee. Ho ho ho, ha ha ha, heee. Giggle. You have to watch this video to truly appreciate. http://video.yahoo.com/watch/72326/1202346 | This song goes eerily well with our story. "Jonathan Switcher is a young artist. He just doesn't seem to last in any job he does. But when he builds a mannequin, he makes it so perfect, he falls in love with it. It is the first thing he has made that makes him feel like a real artist. The mannequin ends up in the window of a big department store. When he saves the life of an old lady who happens to be the owner of that store, he is rewarded by getting a job at the store as stock boy. Later the mannequin comes to life as Emmy, who was an ancient Egyptian living in the year 2514BC. The two redesign the window display to make it most eye catching in town. The store competitors are not happy and will do anything to stop them!" I am *totally* an ancient egyptian (Kim Catrall, no less) and Jude is *totally* a stock boy for women's fashion. And those were *totally* our hairdos when we did all this in a past life. Giggle giggle."

"http://www.mediafire.com/?mlsxekj22mu | This song transports me to a floating afternoon picnic on a secluded lake, the love of my life reciting classic poetry as he paddles us away from the shore. I might even shade my blushing cheeks with the lace of an ivory parasol and cool my neck with a hand fan. "Come in closer real or in a dream. Either way my soul will be redeemed. Leave your home behind, stay with me. Don't you know in all ways I've been all yours? ...You've got me now for keeps. To you [Jude] I'm bound for keeps." "This little diddy appeared on a mix Jude made for me just before his visit in June. After my visit with him in July it rings truer and deeper than before. Acting far below your current age with the one you love will undoubtedly turn you onto the idea of growing old, so long as they're with you all along the way."

"http://www.mediafire.com/?b0led1msjtm Dear Jude, every time i try to tell you how i feel inside i always make the same mistakes / tie myself in knots sometimes even make you cry / when all i ever want to say is nobody else in the whole wide world makes me feel this way / nobody else in the whole wide world takes my breath away / makes me feel so strange inside / dazed confused and starry-eyed i couldn't love you more / makes me feel the wrong way round inside out and upside down i couldn't love you more / and every time i try to tell you what i really mean nothing seems to come out right / end up murmuring foolishly it makes me want to scream how i get so stupefied / there's nobody else in the whole wide world makes me feel this way / there's nobody else in the whole wide world takes my breath away / makes me feel so strange inside open mouthed and mystified / i couldn't love you more / makes me feel so upside down muddle-headed round and round / i couldn't love you more makes me feel so strange inside dazed confused and starry-eyed / i couldn't love you more / makes me feel the wrong way round inside out and upside down / i couldn't love you more / (really)"

"That is an excellent question. I believe the answer is "No." Give it a whirl, you may even better yourself with a listen. This is a sweet instrumental from a girl with a penchant for finger picking. And bass. And drums. Gosh I love me a girl who can play... everything. | http://www.mediafire.com/?vdkexed2ney | Next listen to "2 O'Clock" and dote over her precious voice. "Take a gorgeous, textured melody by Ride and pour it down the throat of this Anna-Lynne Williams, slow down the tempo to about half and melt as she churns it back out. Yes, like buttah. You know I had to say that. Listen to the Ride version and fall in love with it again. Then thank themalegoodbye, without whom we would not be having this one-sided conversation. http://www.mediafire.com/?ns2nuy0yxxt"
"Saw these boys open for Frightened Rabbit a few weeks ago and all I could think was, "Man. Do I wish I had that much energy." I picked up "Remember the Night Parties" at the t-shirt table and couldn't escape without these guys chatting my ear off. Little band, big sound. A bit of Dino Jr. on the nose (try "For the Khakis and the Sweatshirts"), with notes of early Green Day vocals on the palette and a smathering of Journey on the finish. Yes, I said Journey. It's in here, in the guitars and the "gosh I gotta listen to that one again" hook of this song. It's more than a feeling. And yes, please, please do visit your national parks. http://www.myspace.com/theoxfordcollapse "

"<gush> Last night's show at the Hi-Dive exceeded all expectations. Big and loud and even a bit (ok, well very) comedic, these guys performed passionately non-stop. The intimacy of the venue meshed well with the couple o' brothers from Scotland and I only wish they would have played more. Biggest surprise of the night: A verse and a refrain from The National's "Fake Empire" leading into "My Backwards Walk." Brill brill brill. </gush> Photos here: http://tinyurl.com/52mexy"

"http://www.daytrotter.com/file_download/1157 | This cute little lullaby, lazily woven with a sort of comforting 1950s nostalgia seems almost freakishly appropriate for the mix in weather here today. My gloomy morning clouds dropped light snow, then cleared for a moment or two of sunshine and the gustiest of winds, circling back to snow and then sunshine again. One could either obsess over the injustice of snow in June, or enjoy the flakes as they twinkle in the sunshine like specks of dust in a late afternoon beam of light. I chose to worry about the little hummingbirds who have been dizzying themselves in lusty pendulum dances for the past two weeks. Little birds and bees, please stick around for a while and pollinate my wildflowers. If you have to, cuddle up and take a nap 'til it's all over. This too shall pass."

"Thanks Rollerballrocco for your earlier rec... now I can't stop listening to this song. Please allow me to "Thou shalt not use poetry art or music to get into girls' pants. Use it to get it into their heads." And of course the rant about bands being just bands is brill, which includes: "The Cure--was JUST A BAND." Trying to tell me something?"
