    Man. Wholly smart statement about the Ella Fitzgerald recording. Had a similar (less articulate) reaction on rediscovery of Tony Bennett / Bill Evans. Given political climate & my basic will to give up, I'll suggest "When In Rome" -- but it all kinda matches what I think you're saying about e. fitzgerald.
