"I came across this entirely by accident, but it's rather catchy (okay, quite catchy - to me, in any case). Folk-rocky. I feel that some of you might quite like it. Three free downloads at: http://www.isound.com/matthew_heywood"

"Speaking of fixing things, my laptop is now better - woohoo. And whilst sharing that highly important news, I also thought I would tell you all to go get Gavin's EP. Because not only is he awesome, but the newer ("bigger and better", if you will?) version of this song is spectacular."

"I find it hard to fathom anyone disliking this song. Let's just list a few of the bands under related artists and influences: Death Cab, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Snow Patrol, Travis. And they're from Montreal, to boot."

"When I was in Barbados, I came this close to picking up Kite's album, because there's something you can't resist about Bajan rock music. Listen to this song if you don't believe me. In any case, the airport shop didn't have the album, I came home, forgot all about it, and that was that. Until I stumbled across it again, and now I share it with y'all."

"This song is fantastic. Period. The Details have the most fantastic lyrics that I have heard. Period. Get some songs here: http://www.sonicbids.com/epk/epk.aspx?epk_id=82350. But don't go to their iLike page because it's not right. Not right at all. Period."

"Seabear is amazingly relaxing to listen to. It's great on the days where your head feels like it'll explode. It's great on the other days, too. But most helpful on the head-exploding days."

"I ordered The Coast's EP and it ended up on a mail truck that flipped over and caught fire, but I waited listening to this song on repeat to satisfy myself. You can also be satisfied: http://www.sonicbids.com/epk/epk.asp?epk_id=88581. (And the full-length album is out Tuesday, yay!)"

"It's not often (read: never) that I email someone and ask for a pre-release of their CD. But sometimes, I just can't wait ;) (Get it and listen here: http://2008.sxsw.com/music/showcases/band/58997.html)"

"You know those songs that make you go out and buy the whole CD after hearing just that one song?"
"Saw these guys open for Wintersleep a few years ago and thought they had potential. And now - this, I like ;)"

Woah, I guess I did answer you on my own page! Bahaha, oh my. I'm working wa-a-a-y too often.

Hahaha, I'll try not to throw the toaster in the shower. Now I know to lock my tent door at night, as well, in fear of the ether bunny. Bill (funny guy who would be considered the camp counsellor if we needed one at all) told us his ether bunny story during morning break today, and now I want to go home :P Remind me to tell it to you sometime (it's rather lengthy - a little too much so for ilike).

Hola; definitely a huge, huge thank-you for leaving a comment on my Sigur Ros article on The Frequency. I won't admit that I was humbled and flattered all at once... err... Really, thanks again : D

It wasn't a very informative safety meeting. We covered three topics - washing your hands before going to the kitchen (we had make-your-own poutine tonight, by the way - fries, gravy, and real cheese curds - but you could just have fish and chips if you wanted as well) - refastening the safety belts as you're getting out of the helicopter (otherwise they get jammed in the door and cause 30,000$ worth of damage) - and to resist the urge of syphoning (sp?) fuel if the pump doesn't work (because it's SO tempting). I can't wait until the fall, though :)

Hurray! I did well for myself! And for you. I haven't been using iLike while here - it's too "city" for the arctic. Or, rather, I don't want to piss people off by playing snippets of stuff and then deleting. General safety meeting in a couple of minutes!

Gasp! You're reading my blog? *becomes teary eyed* I thought nobody read that old thing. I haven't posted anything since, err, whenever I last posted, but I did get a recurring columnist gig for a web-based magazine called TheFrequency (thefrequency.ca). I wrote a profile on Sigur Ros, and you can find it in the website if you want to read it : D Woah, woah, Bubble, relax, please, I know you're excited but, oh... oh no, oh, there.... there goes your wall, Tulip. Bubble, it's drenched! What? Oh, aunt Tulip is mean? Why is she - because she doesn't feed you juices? And you're tired of water? Well, Bubble, she's just looking out for you, because you'll turn strange colours. That's right, stra-a-a-nge colours, and no girly bubble likes weird. Feeling better? Okay, go back to your corner now. Phew! Anyways - Vaporous is too mellow. I'm actually enjoying the rest of the CD more, songs like Morphing and Across the Stream have a better groove to them. See if you can find samples of them (*ahem* last.fm *ahem* allmusic.com *ahem*). Holy gold, this is a long post!
