oh that's too bad, although really, i didn't come here for over a year. This site was great at the beginning, but I think the Facebook App really ruined it. Thankfully i still have you as a last.fm buddy
Hi there music guru! I'm reanimating my profile. I see you haven't been around much here either... Thanks for Point Juncture and will catch up w/you on Facebook, groetjes!
No problem! I saw them at a bar in NYC and fell instantly in love! Can't wait for their full length cd to come out. They are going to be huge, i know it!
I noticed you're a fan of a lot of LA based music and a top listener to EVERYTHING. (well done!) Wanted to let you know our blog just finished an LA based holiday comp --all proceeds going to Midnight Mission http://www.wouldbehipster.com/2008/11/confessions-of-would-be-hipster.html
I wasn't on iLike for a while and now I'm trying to catch up starting with your page. Thumbs up for the "Bye Bye Bicycle" and Zack Weber. But I always download all songs you put up. =) Thank you.
Happy you liked The Very Sexuals & Borko. Guess what... I am going to see Radiohead for the first time tonight! An outdoor concert and the weather is amazing. =)
weird. I was just going to write you about theTelekinesis! show next week. That would be saaweet if you could snatch one of the remaining EPs. Oh Snob, I think your mission is becoming clear. Ha! I like Elin's and your idea put together.....Tadaaa! Boobies!!!
Hi again. SF was cooold, but nice nonetheless. Among other things, I went to Amoeba Records; famous music store, got the t-shirt and some singles. Anyhow, about tada tátà...I'm pretty sure it doesn't mean anything, at least not in Swedish. :) Maybe it's just "tada" as in "tadaaa, I've just pulled a rabbit out of my hat", you know...can't be of much more help than that. :) Cute music anyhow.
tada tátà? I am all over it! BTW I've had 2 of the most insane times of my life up in your area.... and the pleasures of the gorge are increased tenfold because of my presence here!
yes yes....ask Elin!! Samantha? She's just some crazy person I picked up off the street. I had to send her out west because Ohio doesn't take to her kind. I sure hope they're treating her well out there.
Manhattan Love Suicides~BURNT OUT LANDSCAPES CD
Compilation of Singles, Radio Sessions and Exclusive Tracks supposedly out now but UK only I think. You should ask Kurt (Klimtone) about Sol Seppy. He looooooooooves her silly. p.s. I'm way more behind than you I promise. I mean, I just rec'd The Knack for crying out loud!!
Ah man, I totally wrote you a comment like two days ago...either you deleted it because it was the shittiest comment you've every received or because iLike is controlled by a plethora of monkeys...eh, anyways, Thanks for accepting me and happy listening as well! Hope all is well with your snowperson...
ok. you are costing me a fortune!! :)
I am listening to some of your "songs you like" and itunes is LOVING me right now. Lots of new goodies to listen to. Thanks :)
=) I should have known you'd like that. And thanks for Young Coyotes. L<3ve 'em!! your rec took me to their myspace page which took me to freerice.com which led me to polish up on my vocab while feeding the hungry and listening to some great tunes! Now I feel better. heehee
Snob, your friends from Seattle , Feral children are quite good!...........:o),Ww
( modest mouse, arcade fire, wolf parade etc, so great influences inside )
Hello again. :) Glad you liked the rec. Hey, doesn't Star Anna sound a bit like Eva Cassidy, voice-wise? Anyhow, I shall peruse those mediafire links you've posted ASAP, thanks. By the way, on Sunday I'll be heading over to the US (San Francisco)! I'll remember to bow in Seattle's direction every now and then. :) Take care!
Yes! I went and it was amazing, I would have been very sorry to have missed it...now that I've done it I realize it's actually not that big of a deal to go alone :)
hi there! it's been a while and i've been missing my indie roots for way too long. anything in particular to recommend someone who is in rediscovery? :)
I'm diggin the Pony Pants, thanks! I must admit, I was very intrigued by the name...it just sounds like a term of endearment that I would give to my 10 year old dachshund.
"fire...BON fire"...Is it just me or does it seem like they've had too many episodes outside of "the office" lately? I think I prefer the ones that happen in the office where there isn't a whole lot of plot...And there was entirely not enough Dwight in that episode. :/
hey Snob , where have you been ?
2 days without snob, it's quite unbearable! hahaha, you came back with a bresilian band , love a lot Brooklyn .Did you see that the whole album is downlodable for free on their website ? i listened quickly , brooklyn is my fav , reazlly...bon WE,Ww
Its still cold over here in Wenatchee and our favorite snowboarding Mt. closed for the season, Damn!! We will still ride Stevens until it closes. I love snow and I love snowmen too.
heehee...that's happened to me before too. It's really funny when you're in the top ten listeners or something....and it's like huh? I thought I just discovered this band....turns out I was listening to them for months! Don't look directly into the eye!! Yeah, ok...this picture is starting to scare me too.... You know what? I bet I found out about GC from YOU forever ago!! It wouldn't surprise me.
you never sleep !!! what time is it in Seattle ? ( 3h.30 AM in France , it's time for me to go to bed hahaha,
bonne nuit Snob, i'm very glad to share music with you , Ww
hey, thanks for the death cab link. i was about to recommend the song myself only to find you'd beaten me to it. actually, this is the second time that's happened. i was going to rec "turn into the turn" by mist and mast about a week ago and found that you'd already been there and done that. anyway, thanks for the recs, man.
se efxaristo poly file mou!! i can't believe that i accepted a wish like that from an ilike friend!! thank you! thank you! thank you! na eisai kala!! filia! :-)
yeah, he does a lot of stuff for me on the shape of the earth, he's really good. that song is from an album he just released (or will in the next few days) independently. I believe you can only buy it from www.just-moss.com for now- and maybe itunes in the future.

Amen. Change is a lovely rec by the way, mmm...and Grand Archives! Listening to the George Kaminski song right now. You sure are stocked up on nice surprises. :)
darn it!!!.. just found out about Black Kids "nt gna teach ur boyf to dance" and checked their page to see the last person played.. you!!!!!! kudos amigo! xxxx
Add to list: Look up Merrick...lol - And, call me an idiot. I guess I have a mental association with the word 'Snob' equating to females. Guys can be snobs too *drills this into my head*. My apologies! Yeah, definitely check that site out. There's a lot of really cute banter going on. It's like sitting and watching a really informal rehearsal. Filmed in HD too. :-)
I will definitely check Chris Walla out! :-) By the way Miss Top Listener of 'The Bird and the Bee'...Have you seen their studio performances on rehearsals.com yet? Really cool stuff. You'd love it if you like them. I'm totally in love with that site.
I was so determined not to get hooked on 'Death Cab' - lol - I was thinking, "Man, EVERYONE loves them..." To me, that usually means it's more crap over-hyped by MTV or radio stations that I'll listen to and be disappointed by. I was so wrong about DCFC. I'm bummed I didn't catch them earlier. You're right. I'll definitely pay attention the next time I see something pop up from you guys with like minds even when I think it's something I wouldn't like. You never know! I've already started playing their songs on guitar. I'm hooked.
I thought we have much of the same taste in female voices but not the same in male voices cos you didn't react on any of my recs, when it was a male singer. But now you rec'd The Imprints. A real surprise! Thank you! =)
Thanx for the tunes. Liking what I've had the chance to hear so far.
And as for the Cameo? It's Mardi Gras. Give a girl a break, I'm playing some funnier stuff on the porch that you haven't even SEEN!
haha. I have..*cough* earned my reputation, haven't I? glad you still know the silly swede.. It will take me days to go through your recs. fun fun fun. :)
Hey there. I was looking for the song because I was building an article on the apple commercials being a great place for new artists to showcase their music. New artists should just forward Steve Jobs demo tapes.
i've been looking, and i can't find anything else by them (red sea station). hopefully it wasn't just some happy accident that miraculously occured one nite in the bottom of someone's basement. hit me up if you do locate some more.
.......TELL ME!!! No one said anything...kinda. A friend of mine wouldn't comment on my vocals. After awhile he said "there nice".
So tell me what you mean, please.
What exactly do you mean by "the vocals need tightening" ?(it's fine that you said that. I want the good and bad news. And how to get better)
We are having a show this friday at el corazon (early show) 5pm with The Cherubs (they're really good), SkullBot, and Gnarles and the Sons of Christ. You should go.
Heey!! Thanks again for the link but i just wanna say have you noticed how Oh MJ!, sounds a lot like the beginning of in the morning by Razorlight.. ??
DUDE!!!
My band has it's first two shows coming up really soon (tuesday and friday). We have one song on our myspace now. Check it out and tell me what you think.
www.myspace.com
i barely remember any of that. i pretty much only remember my school, cougar ridge elementary (5th grade), my swim team, the issaquah sockeyes and the lakes. coming from california i was used to the beach, and i thought it was weird the way people treated the lakes like beaches. oh yeah, i also remember being ridiculed for being a californian.
i lived in issaquah for a year when i was 10, so i know how much it rains in seattle...but despite all the rain, do you have any favorite rainy day music? its a lovely rainy day here and i've already listened to my favorite stereotypical rainy day soundtrack cat power, "moon pix". peace and love.
i'm perfectly fine with giving you the benefit of the doubt; you are a splendid snob, not the negative kind. haha! anyway, so you're a muscian? what's your instrument of choice? or do you sing? i do both, though neither excessivley well. hahaha.. much peace snob.
Ow aha!! Cause i was messaging with stacy and i was like (s)he.. And stuff. its good to determine ones gender.. I'm a girl.. see now we're even!! OEEEH THE FRATELLIS!! kewl!!
gosh i feel so mean calling you snob, idk maybe it's because it's usually seen as something negative liike "don't be such a snob!" but umm, haha yeap.. anyway... just had to point that out!
ja! yea i thought that might happen. i wasn't sure how to differentiate my words from the lyrics.. so.. yeap. even though i COMPETELY agree with what the song says. [: nice to hear from you, hope all is well on your side of the world. toodles snob.
Yeh.. i'm going on holiday.. To paris and i lost my passport.. school's in holland.. Next to the cute guys school Which leads me to my next question... Are you a girl or a guy??
I know that you dont know me that well but HEEY I GOT IN I GOT IN

Only found a little of The Zebras, and The Tripwires for the matter (I'm unemployed now, savin' every penny)! If you've got some extra laying around, let me know. What I've heard, I've DUUUUG.
Yay, I'm supa cool! :) Thanks mate. She is something special alright. By the way, the tardy bus rider comment - story of my life. Moi Caprice is no exception, I'm checking them out right now. Another one rides the bus...
hahah . okay okay you win .
damn , that global warming gets me every time !
hey . by the way . listen to the Juno soundtrack (amazingmoviebytheway)
i think you'll like it .
haha . welllll . no its actually a Modest Mouse song . i took a liking to it
:]
but , to answer your very in depth question , tundra's got extreme cold and frigid living conditions . pretty much crushes anything that would like to live out there ... oh , and it has permafrost !
A very very very small band. We are called Kneonnives (Neon Knives). We just started not to long ago and will be having our first show on january 29th at my high school. And hopefully many more after it.
Our myspace is www.myspace.com/kneonnives and we are recording tomorrow so there should be music up soon..ish. Yeah.
Are you in a band? Or play any instruments?
No TV, you say? That makes two of us. Can't say I miss it too much (not a word about alent-tay ows-shay, okay? :). There's almost a cult around it, having no TV...We should start converting people door to door. :) Anyhow, thanks for the Amy Macdonald vid! Better start digging for some new gems myself. Take care!
AGT, America's Got Talent, aired in the States this August, I think. I reckon you don't watch talent shows? Me neither, just a few measly clips on youtube, nothing serious. I can quit when I want to. :) Have a happy new year now!
glad i made you laugh! i'm pretty obsessed with damien jurado right now. he's incredibly ... incredible. :) totally agree with you about ruby vileos, btw. such solid vocals, i don't see how anyone wouldn't like her.
hi snob! (haha) yes, it is quite an eclectic/slightly obscure list. but i enjoy variety, especially when it comes to my jams. happy listening to you as well!
Nice to meet you. Thanks for the add; I'm glad you dig what I'm pushing... As for your enquiry into my tree-dom, I'm of the Faulknerian variety: "She smelled like trees." is my favorite line from The Sound and the Fury. It's how Benjy initially describes Caddy; and there's just something associative about trees in the context Benjy evokes them that is suggestive of simplicity, of intrinsic purity and primitive innocence. [...Of course, none of those terms actually apply to me - I'm just in love with the idea of it all and think it's a rather poignant expression. Hehe.]
Oh don't, after all, we wouldn't be able to communicate if I had dropped English for fear of making mistakes (well, I was in school, so I didn't really have a choice, but still!) You could miss out on a lot of fun, so by all means, "Speak! Risk it." :)
Thanks for the add. Look forward to checking out what I have not heard. You have a pretty deep list here that I am going to tear into! Look forward to seeing what you are listening to. Take Care, Matt
Hihi, almost: "rygg" is Swedish for "back", the bodypart. "Tillbaka" is the "back" you're looking for. Anyhow, many thanks my friend! Good to be "tillbaka". :)
Ya welcome snob - glad you liked them. ;) But I never heard of them before - if it's the good ol' Europe that s*cks in some ways or it's me - we never will find out.. LoL Have a good one! Nina xoxo
Hi, thanks! Sorry for the delay, I haven't had that much time to check this, but I see you have some great selections in your music library... Happy listening to you too....
yeah...i saw ruby perform a few years
ago...she's fantastic!! it was a small
show...so i had a chance to chat with
her a bit.
glad u like!!
keep in touch!!
Thank you! I just got back into my home last night. It was spared but many neighbor's homes were not. I feel very fortunate, but diving around the community would sadden anyone.
Snow~by! i just listened to Voxtrot and can't believe u got there before me.. then agen i dont think there isnt anywhere where snow~by doesnt pop up in the listings..!! high~five happy head!! (^^,) x x x
Combine The Victorious...not my usual thing. But here's something wild: was just looking over EVERYTHING I've downloaded since joining this crazy site and have since realized that my once 'fun' party I have every year for Mardi Gras, is now gonna be an 'outta control' party. Thanx to lotsa folks, including one crazy snobby snowperson. Thank you!
Glad to be music f[r]iends.
Yeah, just added this and already mining some gold. If you wander around my spins, you'll probably trip over a significant number of Texas artists, since I tend to give a little more weight to our local faves, maybe you'll find something new too. :)
Shameless plug: http://www.goodshow.net for my show's playlists, rants, etc.
really? for me, i just bash the ilike button whenever i think it's good enough to be shared. not that anybody will see it, but.. you know.. :) suppose i should learn to restrain myself. i love the mugs too! i'm delighted i found them :D it's surprising how they're not that well-known when there are so many more famous bands out there that aren't even as good. (as mean as it sounds) oh well :( i'm hoping to get their albums, provided i can find them at all (singapore sucks like that). and greece aye? lucky you! hope you have a great time!
You've probably been told this a lot, but I can't stress enough about how much I like your taste in music :D I visit your profile religiously! It's becoming a routine: Every time I feel fed up of my iTunes playlist, I go crawling over to your page to find new bands to listen to. Never fails me, either :D
Hey, thanks for the kind comments. I agree, this does seem to be the ideal place to share your music with others. You've motivated me to go and record some stuff right now !!, so thanks again :)
oh wait, :p you didn't send me the music someone else with an avatar that at a glance looks simular to yours did...but yeah, no luck on KATE TUKCER AND THE SONS OF SWEDEN on ILIKE. I know they have a myspace though.
Ha, for the first time since 2004 i missed a schoolyard show in Seattle (i missed the in store and the show at El Corazon). ah, I'm not so disappointed though. i hope everyone who went though enjoyed it as much as i would of :] did you go? ....and thanks for the songs. have you heard of KATE TUCKER AND THE SONS OF SWEDEN? if i can find them on ILIKE i'll totally send you a few of their songs.
Hey, it's good to hear from you my sunstroked snowman friend. I'm actually in the process of recording at the moment/ trying to get out and play some gigs, which hopefully leads to me putting some stuff on myspace & probaly here as well. Thanks for your interest...I'll keep you updated.Very nice top 12 by the way ;)
i think it's the crisscross deal. that makes me feel like i [should] know you. D: not to be creepy or anything. i just had this awkward feeling (though i have no idea who you REALLY are or WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE) that you're someone i've seen before.
Aha! Victoria Bergsman, a fellow Swede! So embarrassing when someone else beats you to your own talents. Just letting you know I stole her back from you. She's my rec now :) And yes, Kael is a keeper.
i was at menonmena, ST. VINCENT, stars of track and field <333, some of apples in stereo, sean paul, the frames, schoolyard heroes (twice!) and a whole ton of others.
AUGH i cant believe we saw some of the same shows! and yeah, i don't like the crowds either.
have you been going to bumbershoot? today's the last day! O: -agh! ...just wondering because, i've seen you EVERYWHERE on this site. and it's like TSH! if it involves music i like....how are you NOT involved/
Sooooo happy you like! Hope you didn't have "real" things to do with your time while you were perusing vids;-p
But who cares, great musical finds are a priority!
maybe i'll be able to see pinback whilst they're upstate.. I'll be in the midst of LA next week when I see Wilco with a friend there ...and see how the city chaos effect me.
We've been friends before? Strange, I don't remember deleting any friends. Anyway, all is well, now that we've found each other! :) Love your recs as well, always something new.
yeah im droppin into the shins at Les Shwab on the thirty-ith in Bend, second concert ever, i just popped my virgin ears last week at the warfield in downtown SF.
You're welcome! Yes, TCS are among the many wonderful artists who are under-appreciated. Thanks for the Carla Bruni rec. Sounds like she's right up my alley. I'm looking forward to checking some of her stuff out.
Carla Bruni...thanks for the introduction. transforming poetry into song is a beautiful concept with epic challenges...I must search for this album....thanks for the words of wisdom - I'm a sucker for poets.
why thank you. It's refreshing to see Carissa's Wierd as your favorite artist, I was looking for them but somehow they didn't show up in the search thing??? Oh well, I've found them now. haha. I'm glad there is a good band from South Carolina like carissa's weird, but everyone only remembers hootie and the blowfish.....................which is unfortunate............................haha.
Thanks! I just started iliking... (i...licking?) and I kept seeing the same icons in the sidebar. What do you know? They're all people with awesome taste:)
While in all actuality it WILL be stalking. I understand. haha.
You've been on my sidebar all day. I've been listening to Snow Patrol constantly [I'm going to their concert tomorrow night] and, well, you haven't been listening to them all day. Or even, from the looks of it, at all. Haha. Weird stuff.
btw...I just now started SERIOUSLY grooovin' on the ms led, and not just listenin'. Just so you know.
I hear it's hot up there. Snowman meltin?
Ooooh! Ever heard of The Divorce? I heard they broke up. I knew some of those dudes. Good band.
what was that band a super long time ago that you recommended and you said their myspace page had some porno-esque video on it? Cause i remember finding their music and liking it but now the name has completely escaped me...help please! :)
haha!
well, my lack of sidebar is caused by a rousing case of old-mac-itis.
it's not recent enough to download the sidebar. :(
ahem, i think you owe me a cute music recommendation . . .
Yeah, it is so cool living in NYC. I am surrounded by awesome amazing musicians and I get to hear them all the time. There's a great community called Local Correspondents you should check out full of local indie talent. Let me know if you want the site address.
Yep, Primitives rule. I'm trying to buy a turntable to transfer some of my old 45's to digital. A lot of them are No Wave from New York late 70's, but one is a great Primitives single which never made it to cd: "We Found A Way To The Sun." What an amazing bit of psychedelia! I'll let you know when I get it transferred. I have both the lp's on cd, BTW.
haha, well, y'know, i could start getting into the whole "i saw them way back when they weren't even headlining at the knitting factory" music-snobbery thing but i won't. :P they literally sold out in 5 mins. 5 MINS! and i just have issues with paying $35 for a ticket to see them elsewhere. :\ so, i'll just relive the seeing AF live in my head instead. :]
Well, you're right. Lou's version/non-version is lyrical greek tragedy; au revoir's cute li'l chanty is about as sad as rainbows and kittens. As different as can be. If you're interested, you can hear a snatch of lou on my iLike list. Tally-ho!
recommend to u...u already know all the good stuff i have..but i will...ill just have to browse to get some new things,,yeah n i speak creole wiz jolene:P actually its not creole..we speak a mix of english, creole, and french...:P
btw im listening to cocorosie nowadays..i supoz u already hav em ..do u?lolz
That's hilarious, "very low." I'm sure we're very "high" if you look at just one of my sub sectors. >:) No doubt my inclusion of Boston rocked the compatibility figure outerer's world.

Jun 27 2008, 07:43 PM

Jun 26 2008, 09:41 PM
Jun 25 2008, 08:15 AM
tada tátà? I am all over it! BTW I've had 2 of the most insane times of my life up in your area.... and the pleasures of the gorge are increased tenfold because of my presence here!
Jun 24 2008, 11:56 PM
tada tátà -- Oh that Swedish music seen -- Good find snob
Jun 24 2008, 08:25 PM
yes yes....ask Elin!! Samantha? She's just some crazy person I picked up off the street. I had to send her out west because Ohio doesn't take to her kind. I sure hope they're treating her well out there.
Jun 24 2008, 08:06 PM
yeah, what the heck is tada tátà? I bet it's really cute whatever it means.

"fire...BON fire"...Is it just me or does it seem like they've had too many episodes outside of "the office" lately? I think I prefer the ones that happen in the office where there isn't a whole lot of plot...And there was entirely not enough Dwight in that episode. :/
Apr 11 2008, 09:21 AM

Feb 15 2008, 07:45 PM
Add to list: Look up Merrick...lol - And, call me an idiot. I guess I have a mental association with the word 'Snob' equating to females. Guys can be snobs too *drills this into my head*. My apologies! Yeah, definitely check that site out. There's a lot of really cute banter going on. It's like sitting and watching a really informal rehearsal. Filmed in HD too. :-)
Feb 15 2008, 01:15 PM
Right on. Will look for it! (and you are TO cool enough!) I'm sure nothing is good enough to replace that awesome snowperson though....

Feb 10 2008, 10:20 PM
I was so determined not to get hooked on 'Death Cab' - lol - I was thinking, "Man, EVERYONE loves them..." To me, that usually means it's more crap over-hyped by MTV or radio stations that I'll listen to and be disappointed by. I was so wrong about DCFC. I'm bummed I didn't catch them earlier. You're right. I'll definitely pay attention the next time I see something pop up from you guys with like minds even when I think it's something I wouldn't like. You never know! I've already started playing their songs on guitar. I'm hooked.
Feb 10 2008, 12:10 PM
hello! I don't actually type like that but ah well.
Feb 10 2008, 06:36 AM
I thought we have much of the same taste in female voices but not the same in male voices cos you didn't react on any of my recs, when it was a male singer. But now you rec'd The Imprints. A real surprise! Thank you! =)
Feb 06 2008, 02:26 PM

Feb 01 2008, 08:03 PM
Hey there. I was looking for the song because I was building an article on the apple commercials being a great place for new artists to showcase their music. New artists should just forward Steve Jobs demo tapes.
Feb 01 2008, 08:47 AM
i've been looking, and i can't find anything else by them (red sea station). hopefully it wasn't just some happy accident that miraculously occured one nite in the bottom of someone's basement. hit me up if you do locate some more.
Jan 31 2008, 03:42 PM
.......TELL ME!!! No one said anything...kinda. A friend of mine wouldn't comment on my vocals. After awhile he said "there nice". So tell me what you mean, please.
Jan 31 2008, 01:46 PM

Jan 30 2008, 12:18 AM
What exactly do you mean by "the vocals need tightening" ?(it's fine that you said that. I want the good and bad news. And how to get better) We are having a show this friday at el corazon (early show) 5pm with The Cherubs (they're really good), SkullBot, and Gnarles and the Sons of Christ. You should go.

i barely remember any of that. i pretty much only remember my school, cougar ridge elementary (5th grade), my swim team, the issaquah sockeyes and the lakes. coming from california i was used to the beach, and i thought it was weird the way people treated the lakes like beaches. oh yeah, i also remember being ridiculed for being a californian.

i lived in issaquah for a year when i was 10, so i know how much it rains in seattle...but despite all the rain, do you have any favorite rainy day music? its a lovely rainy day here and i've already listened to my favorite stereotypical rainy day soundtrack cat power, "moon pix". peace and love.
Jan 23 2008, 04:05 PM

:) Have a happy new year now!

hi snob! (haha) yes, it is quite an eclectic/slightly obscure list. but i enjoy variety, especially when it comes to my jams. happy listening to you as well!
Dec 19 2007, 02:41 PM
Nice to meet you. Thanks for the add; I'm glad you dig what I'm pushing... As for your enquiry into my tree-dom, I'm of the Faulknerian variety: "She smelled like trees." is my favorite line from The Sound and the Fury. It's how Benjy initially describes Caddy; and there's just something associative about trees in the context Benjy evokes them that is suggestive of simplicity, of intrinsic purity and primitive innocence. [...Of course, none of those terms actually apply to me - I'm just in love with the idea of it all and think it's a rather poignant expression. Hehe.]
Dec 14 2007, 11:14 AM

Seen your name mentioned everywhere, yeah you truly snob. Thanks for accepting, mate.
Dec 03 2007, 04:07 PM
Oh don't, after all, we wouldn't be able to communicate if I had dropped English for fear of making mistakes (well, I was in school, so I didn't really have a choice, but still!) You could miss out on a lot of fun, so by all means, "Speak! Risk it." :)
Dec 03 2007, 01:45 PM
Thanks for the add. Look forward to checking out what I have not heard. You have a pretty deep list here that I am going to tear into! Look forward to seeing what you are listening to. Take Care, Matt

Thank you! I just got back into my home last night. It was spared but many neighbor's homes were not. I feel very fortunate, but diving around the community would sadden anyone.

Thank you!

Oct 06 2007, 05:21 PM
Glad to be music f[r]iends. Yeah, just added this and already mining some gold. If you wander around my spins, you'll probably trip over a significant number of Texas artists, since I tend to give a little more weight to our local faves, maybe you'll find something new too. :) Shameless plug: http://www.goodshow.net for my show's playlists, rants, etc.
Oct 06 2007, 04:14 PM

Sep 30 2007, 01:59 AM
really? for me, i just bash the ilike button whenever i think it's good enough to be shared. not that anybody will see it, but..
Sep 26 2007, 12:38 PM
Thanks for the add. Hi from Spain....
Sep 26 2007, 08:37 AM
You've probably been told this a lot, but I can't stress enough about how much I like your taste in music :D I visit your profile religiously! Jun 13 2007, 09:38 PM
haha! well, my lack of sidebar is caused by a rousing case of old-mac-itis. it's not recent enough to download the sidebar. :( ahem, i think you owe me a cute music recommendation . . .

Yay! There's a lot more stuff on the old (beta) site. I'm still moving it all over and it's taking me longer than I hoped. (Yes, I am a nerd). ~Jessi

May 18 2007, 01:21 PM
Yeah, it is so cool living in NYC. I am surrounded by awesome amazing musicians and I get to hear them all the time. There's a great community called Local Correspondents you should check out full of local indie talent. Let me know if you want the site address.
May 15 2007, 08:08 PM
awesome...hope i can get a hold on it soon
May 13 2007, 09:00 PM
Yep, Primitives rule. I'm trying to buy a turntable to transfer some of my old 45's to digital. A lot of them are No Wave from New York late 70's, but one is a great Primitives single which never made it to cd: "We Found A Way To The Sun." What an amazing bit of psychedelia! I'll let you know when I get it transferred. I have both the lp's on cd, BTW.
May 13 2007, 09:00 PM
^_^ glad you like them...
May 09 2007, 03:29 PM

May 02 2007, 08:17 AM
haha, well, y'know, i could start getting into the whole "i saw them way back when they weren't even headlining at the knitting factory" music-snobbery thing but i won't. :P they literally sold out in 5 mins. 5 MINS! and i just have issues with paying $35 for a ticket to see them elsewhere. :\ so, i'll just relive the seeing AF live in my head instead. :]
Apr 30 2007, 11:21 PM
Well, you're right. Lou's version/non-version is lyrical greek tragedy; au revoir's cute li'l chanty is about as sad as rainbows and kittens. As different as can be. If you're interested, you can hear a snatch of lou on my iLike list. Tally-ho!
Apr 30 2007, 10:12 PM

Nov 12 2006, 09:38 AM
Yeah, it doesn't count the tracks if you play a CD from iTunes and I'm pretty certain it doesn't update tracks from my ipod like last.fm *sigh*
